EPHI conducts research based on national public health research agenda and on priority public health and nutrition issues. The Institute conducts surveillance for the early identification and detection of public health risks and prevention of public health emergencies. It generates, translates and disseminates scientific and technological knowledge. Also, EPHI builds the capacity of national and regional clinical and public health reference laboratories to improve the quality of laboratory system in Ethiopia.
