The Excerpta Medica database (EMBASE) produced by Elsevier Science, is a major biomedical database with coverage of PubMed/Medline content, international journals and pharmaceutical journals. The database covers all aspects of healthcare but specializes in drug therapy and pharmacological research. Embase has indexed  international journals in the following fields: drug research, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, toxicology, health policy and management, public health, occupational health, environmental health, drug dependence and abuse, psychiatry, forensic medicine, and biomedical engineering/instrumentation. Elsevier has opened up Embase to Research4Life users, which is open for researchers and healthcare professionals in developing countries.
