Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases – GACD

Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases – GACD

GACD is an alliance of the world’s public research funding agencies to support clear priorities for a coordinated research effort that addresses the growing global health crisis. The Alliance develops and facilitates innovative research collaborations between low- and middle-income and high-income countries in the fight against chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, certain cancers, lung diseases and mental health. GACD research takes place in low income settings and vulnerable populations. In addition, the Alliance coordinates and supports research activities that address the prevention and treatment of NCDs and non-communicable diseases on a global scale, with focus, in particular, on the needs of low- and middle-income countries. There is also a research focus on vulnerable populations of more developed countries. The resources section has a range of materials, including images, videos, reports, GACD documentation and useful links.
