Health Resources and Services Administration – HRSA

Health Resources and Services Administration – HRSA

The HRSA, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary federal agency for improving health care to people who are geographically isolated, economically or medically vulnerable. The agency aims to improve health and achieve health equity through access to quality services, a skilled health workforce and innovative programs. HRSA’s programs help those in need of high quality primary health care, people living with HIV/AIDS, pregnant women, and mothers. HRSA also supports the training of health professionals, the distribution of providers to areas where they are needed most and improvements in health care delivery. The agency compensates individuals harmed by vaccination, and maintains databases that protect against health care malpractice, waste, fraud and abuse. The HRSA data warehouse has a variety of resources on HRSA’s activities across key program areas including primary health care, health workforce, health information technology, healthcare systems, maternal and child health, and health center service delivery.
