IAPB is the overarching alliance for the global eye health sector, with more than 150 organizations working together for a world where everyone has universal access to eye care. The Agency promotes the establishment of a WHO program for prevention of blindness, which is embodied in the global initiative, VISION 2020. IAPB promotes knowledge and awareness of comprehensive eye health system development, particularly at country level.
