SEARCH provides healthcare to the rural and poor people in Gadchiroli district and empowers the communities to take care of their own health. The Society conducts research to shape the local, national and global health policies. In Gadchiroli, poverty, illiteracy and remoteness add to the huge health care challenges. Thus, SEARCH makes affordable health care available locally to everyone and ultimately empowers the people to take care of their own health. The organization works together with the community to find relevant solutions to rural health problems. SEARCH provides services in its hospital and has also home based maternal, newborn and child care. Other projects include: alcohol and tobacco control, life skill education, mobile medical unit and research on non-communicable diseases. SEARCH, today, is recognized as a global leader amongst public health institutions. Its community-based participatory approach has made path-breaking contributions to the public health problems of not just Gadchiroli, but also globally. The resource center has research publications, non technical articles, newsletters, annual reports, brochures, books; and videos.
